Red Bank commissioners passed a resolution by a 4-1 vote at the Commission’s March 4 meeting to commit to apply for a Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation parks and recreation grant. Commissioner Rick Causer was the sole vote against the resolution.
In order to apply for the grant, the city was required to host three public meetings. The final one is scheduled for tonight at City Hall from 5-7 p.m.
City Manager Randall Smith said citizens are encouraged to attend the meeting to express their opinions and desires relating to local parks. The city will then make a decision as to how much money to ask for from TDEC and for what. The grant application is due in April, he said.
