Trader Dave’s Gun and Swap Shop is a local, family-owned business that prides itself on customer service, said owner Dave Norman.

He runs the shop with son Clay Norman, who grew up hunting and shooting with his father.

“We decided to join forces and see what we could do,” said Dave Norman, who has 15 years of experience selling at gun shows and 30 years of corporate experience.

The store offers a wide assortment of rifles, shotguns, handguns, ammunition, shooting accessories and quality knives. You can check out available guns on Facebook by finding “Trader Dave Guns.”

Clay Norman, who lives in Hixson, said he chose Red Bank for his store’s location because the space was previously a gun shop about seven years ago and was already outfitted with bars on the windows.

The store’s customer service is what sets it apart, said Dave Norman.

“We’re going out of our way to take care of people and build that customer base,” he said. “We want repeat customers and we want to get our name out there.”

He said what people are most interested in buying right now are small carry handguns for self-defense.
