What would you do to make the North Shore a better place to live and work?
City councilmen Chip Henderson and Jerry Mitchell want to know your answers. The councilmen are hosting the North Chattanooga Summit in conjunction with the North Chattanooga Chamber Council at the Business Development Center Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 5:30-7 p.m.
“We were approached by the business community with issues they felt needed to be addressed,” said Henderson.
Attendees will discuss issues such as traffic on Cherokee Boulevard and Frazier Avenue, signage, trash pickup, safety and zoning, he said.
“The biggest reason to come together is so we can come up with some workable solutions to address these issues,” said Henderson. “This is their opportunity to express issues they have in the North Shore community, and city staff will be there to listen to the issues and come up with solutions to those problems.”
Attendees will break out into roundtable discussions and committees will be formed to help address the issues.
“I think some solutions we’ll be able to implement right away, and others will take a bit longer,” he said, adding that certain issues will likely require funding to resolve.
