For the fourth year, a group of citizens in Soddy-Daisy is saying thank you to veterans for their service by throwing a free dinner in their honor at First Baptist Church in Soddy-Daisy Monday, Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“I think it’s the least we could do,” said WV Roberson, a Korean War veteran and one of the group’s members. “It’s an honor for us to be with them.”
Dinner consists of a chicken filet, ham, creamed potatoes, green beans, corn, slaw and homemade desserts. Last year, 400 veterans were fed at the church, which plans to serve 450 this year. No reservations are necessary.
First Baptist Church is located at 5611 Upshaw Drive.
