Yessick’s now calls Signal Mountain home

Yessick’s brings 35 years of design experience to Signal Mountain with the recent opening of a satellite location on Taft Highway. Yessick’s Design Center has been in East Brainerd since 1986, and a successful satellite store was opened in Brentwood near Nashville 12 years ago.

“I’ve always enjoyed a lot of business on Signal Mountain,” said owner Marsha Yessick, who started designing in the ‘70s for Miller’s. “With people’s schedules and the [East Brainerd area] traffic, people don’t want to get out in all that as much as they did when Hamilton Place first opened, so we decided to come to them.”

Signal Mountain is also a large residential area and a great place to raise children, making it seem the ideal spot for a design store, she added.

“It’s a fun shopping experience, and it’s easier to work with a designer than going it alone,” said Yessick.

The satellite location offers full-service interior design. The staff, full-time designer Rebecca Wret and manager Janet Wilkins, can take care of any customer needs, from window treatments to an entire home, or just assistance choosing a great accessory to give a room’s interior a pop of color.

“We’re so flexible; we’ll do one room for someone or a whole home,” said Yessick, adding that design consultations are free of charge. “We work with the client’s budget at their pace.”

Customers can view furniture samples and place orders for the full line at the new location, as well as peruse the selection of jewelry, gifts, stemware, lamps and other home accessories.

“Accessorizing the house is what makes the house, and we do a lot of accessories,” said Yessick.
