Soddy-Daisy discusses Harrison Lane road work

The city of Soddy-Daisy is holding a special-called meeting at City Hall regarding the road work at Harrison Lane near the Walmart Thursday, Jan. 16 at 5 p.m. before its regular City Commission meeting at 7 p.m.

“We’re entering the final design phase,” said City Manager Hardie Stulce. “Before we design and build [the project], the City Council wanted to hold a meeting with the business and property owners to get the most improvements we can do for them and not have any negative effects on their business.”

Stulce said he is unsure when construction on the project will begin, as it must first receive approval from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, which could take from two weeks to three months.

“The funds are there, and we must get the final design complete,” he said. “We’re still working on getting the final details laid out.”

The city has cancelled its next two City Commission meetings Dec. 19 and Jan. 2 due to the holidays and a lack of pressing business, said Stulce.
