‘Tis the season for holiday parties, celebrations and possibly a few of your favorite libations.
But with more to celebrate this time of year also comes a sobering statistic.
During the holiday season, DUI arrests and alcohol-related collisions typically increase. To combat that less-than-merry fact, Chattanooga’s regional branch of Bradford Health Services, an addiction treatment facility, is offering free taxi services Dec. 15-31.
“This is our way of giving back to the community and paying it forward,” said Bradford Health Services community representative Debra Moore. “We will take anyone who’s 21 years of age or older from a bar, lounge or restaurant to their home or wherever they want to go.”
The company is partnering with a local taxi company to provide the service, which can be accessed by people within a 30-mile radius of Chattanooga. To use the free service, call 423-892-2639 or 866-246-3216.
“Our goal is to have less DUIs and roadway fatalities during the holiday season,” said Moore. “Our company is all about saving lives and this is just another way to do it. “
