JLC awards mini grants to local teachers

Junior League of Chattanooga recently hosted a reception to honor Hamilton County public school teachers who are the recipients of 31 mini grants from the local organization.

More than $24,000 was awarded by JLC in increments of $750 or $1,500. Teachers with initiatives that focus on JLC’s Seeds of Change program, which strives to eliminate food deserts, received the highest amounts of award money. The initiatives will be implemented over the course of the rest of the school year at each respective school.
