Ringgold’s newest business held its grand opening Sept. 1.
Mizz Kim’s Creations is both a shop “all about uplifting women” and a retail outlet for Kim Correll’s custom crafted line of bath and body products.
“I’m combining all my skills and loves into one location,” she said. “This shop will allow you to pamper yourself, to make you feel happy.”
Correll’s credits include acting stints acting in Birmingham, Chicago and Los Angeles; appearances on “General Hospital,” in commercials and Hollywood films; and as theater coordinator at The Colonnade and director at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. While pursuing her acting career, she also gained experience as a make-up artist for Lancôme and other high-end cosmetics and beauty products.
Skills and practical knowledge of skin care learned in the theater combined with a familiarity with luxury cosmetics learned in the retail world led Correll to develop her own product line.
Her homemade items have been available online, at the Ringgold Market and at the Chocolate Therapy Café in Chickamauga.
Beginning this week, all products will be made in the back of her new shop at 29 Maple St., adjacent the courthouse in downtown Ringgold.
“We make it here, we sell it here,” Correll said of her artisanal lotions, soaps and skin care items.
A fascination with how France’s fashion houses combined the finest natural ingredients to create luxury lines of cosmetic and skin care products led her to craft products offering high-end benefits without high-end prices.
“My philosophy has always been that every woman deserves the opportunity to have beautiful, high-quality lotions and creams without having to spend a fortune,” she said.
In addition to her own wares, other items made by women; some family, some friends; will be sold in the shop.
“Everything will be handmade and everything will be unique,” Correll said.
