Signal Mountain resident Rick Brines of The Growth Coach is offering a free business-enhancing workshop at MACC Thursday, July 26 at 6 p.m.
“I met Rick at a [Mountain Business Association] meeting, then took a workshop where he additionally presented his business, The Growth Coach,” said MACC Executive Director Barb Storm. “I think it is a perfect use of the MACC.”
Brines feels the difficulties experienced by Signal Mountain business owners are universal.
“They face the same challenges most small business owners face, which is how to grow their business, how to manage their business, how to hire the right type of people, etc.,” he said.
The workshop will focus on balancing running a business with one’s personal life, with topics including priority management, strategic planning, developing a plan of action for the business and ways to help it grow.
“[The workshop] should help [participants] become more effective and efficient in their business,” said Brines. “They will be able to start developing a strategic mindset which will empower them to run their business like a CEO and not as an employee.”
He said the biggest mistake most small business owners make is spending too much time working in their business doing low-value tasks an employee could do.
“If you’re always working in your business, it’s hard to grow it,” said Brines.
Participants will leave the workshop with at least one idea that will benefit their business, he said, and will also begin to understand The Growth Coach’s business coaching process and the potential the program has to drive their business toward further improvement.
The Growth Coach also offers business coaching for individuals and small groups, as well as large corporate groups, with a focus on changing behaviors and transforming mindsets in order to achieve success.
