The Red Bank community is being honored for its support of local baseball with the Chattanooga Lookouts’ upcoming Signal Mountain and Red Bank night at AT&T Field Wednesday, July 11 beginning at 7:15 p.m.

“It’s going to be a fun night at the ballpark for these two communities and a big thank you,” said Josh Weeks, stadium operations associate with the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Signal Mountain Mayor Bill Lusk will throw out the first pitch as the team faces off against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Weeks said businesses and organizations from each of the communities have the opportunity to promote themselves to community members by purchasing a table at the event for $200. Businesses or groups that purchase a table will receive 50 general admission tickets, which usually cost $5 each, to pass out to friends, family, co-workers or loyal customers.

The stadium can accommodate 12 to 14 businesses or organizations, which can purchase tables up to the day before the event, said Weeks. He said he would like to display works by artists from the two communities that evening as well, and is currently seeking interested artists.

Friendly competition will be encouraged between the two communities through several on-field contests for both children and adults. Musical chairs, a dizzy bat race and a hamburger roll in which participants race to roll tires decorated to look like hamburgers to a finish line are among the activities planned.

This will be the fourth community event sponsored by the Chattanooga Lookouts, which previously honored Lookout Mountain and St. Elmo; Dalton and Ringgold; and Soddy-Daisy and Hixson.
