We asked fans of our Signal Mountain Weekly Facebook page to share their favorite restaurants with us, and the mountain eatery mentioned most often was Ayala’s Mexican Restaurant.
“Ayala’s is a family favorite,” posted Tami Chamberlain. “We love the chips and [server] Osbaldo.”
“Good food, good service, good price and a deck for outdoor eating” were among the reasons Emily McKay posted as to why she likes the restaurant best.

Established: March 2003. The first Ayala’s was opened in 1992 in Dayton, Tenn., where he recently opened another Ayala’s.
Price range: $5-$13
Most popular dish: Arroz con Pollo, which consists of chicken and rice topped with cheese sauce, along with fajitas.
Ayala recommends: Hot Molcajete, which is served in a stone bowl and includes steak, chicken, shrimp, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and chorizo all topped with shredded cheese.
